“I'm waiting until the end of the season”: Sergio Aguero Sends Message To Manchester City Amidst Contract Impasse

The player is on the verge of exiting City at the end of the ongoing season

Although Timo Werner is gradually improving in form under the tutelage of Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea are still set to have their heart set on roping in a new striker ahead of the 2021-22 edition of the Premier League.

With Tuchel unconvinced with Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud nearing the tailend of his career, Chelsea are interested in getting in a reinforcement in the striker’s docket. And while the club’s affinity with Borussia Dortmund is well documented, the side is now exploring other avenues as well in case they are unable to lure the Norwegian starlet.

Aguero Emerges On Chelsea’s Radar

One name who has emerged as a potential candidate is Sergio Aguero. With the Manchester City striker running out of a deal at his current club at the end of the season, Chelsea are said to be ready to swoop in if he fails to be awarded an extension.

Although Aguero is yet to sit down at the table with City with both parties only indulging in talks once the ongoing season curtails, Aguero is growing increasingly discontent at his role at the club. A spate of injuries paired with his waning form have seen his insatiable thirst for action grow with each passing outing.

Aguero’s plight at the club was on show during his most recent appearance as well. Getting 15 minutes against Borussia Monchengladbach, an irate Aguero came off the pitch expressing his angst over receiving no passes from his peers.

The 32 year old striker would be a sensational signing for Chelsea with him coming in on a free. The striker who has made his name in City’s folklore is said to be eager to remain in the Premier League, something which could work in Chelsea’s favour.

Barcelona are also said to be monitoring the striker. City will meanwhile be taking on Everton next in the FA Cup as the club looks to emulate its 3-1 routing of Everton in the league come the weekend.
