“A very big coach and an important one”: Diego Simeone Croons Plaudits Thomas Tuchel’s Way

The old PSG manager is poised to take over duties as the club’s new manager

After weeks of speculations and reports, the day has finally come. With Chelsea set to part ways with Frank Lampard today, the club is set to announce Thomas Tuchel as the new man in charge of the club.

Running out of patience with Lampard after a howler of a losing spree in the Premier League, Chelsea have finally decided to let the manager go. The news of him being removed from his post is only a matter of time today with the club asking its squad not to report to the training ground till Monday afternoon.

And amongst the bruhaha of Lampard being excused from his role as the club’s manager is the news of Chelsea’s new manager. A slew of outlets and people have gone onto assert that Chelsea have already lined up Lampard’s replacement with Thomas Tuchel set to take over.

Tuchel Set To Be Given Charge Of Chelsea

The club has been in contact with the German manager for a bevy of weeks now with Lampard failing to arrest Chelsea’s tanking form. Out of a job after falling out of favour at PSG, Tuchel was at the forefront of names Chelsea wanted to hand over the reigns of the club to.

Fabrizio Romano also affirmed the news on Twitter: Allegri has never been in touch with Chelsea board in the last weeks. Thomas Tuchel has been offered many times and he’s the favorite as German manager – also to ‘help’ Werner and Havertz. Lampard is gone.

Max Bielefeld wrote: Exclusive: Thomas Tuchel is going to take over @ChelseaFC according to Sky sources. It’s almost a done deal. Frank Lampard is going to be sacked today.

Both The Telegraph and The Athletic have also gone onto confirm the news.

What is said to have worked in his favour apart from his illustrious period with both Borussia Dortmund and PSG is his nationality. With Chelsea’s German duo of Timo Werner and Kai Havertz both massively struggling at the moment, Tuchel’s lineage is said to have swayed the wind in his favour.

However, it remains to be seen if he is a good fit at the club with Tuchel’s attitude said to be a contentious issue. Chelsea were asked to veer clear of him after removing Conte with Tuchel being touted as a cumbersome man to get along with.
