Chelsea Transfer News: Blues eyeing to capture Manchester United goalkeeper to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga

Chelsea Transfer News: Blues eyeing to capture Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson to replace out of form Kepa Arrizabalaga.

After signing Kepa Arrizabalaga for the record-breaking fee in 2018, Chelsea is looking for a new recruit in the goal-keeping department as Frank Lampard is not convinced with the Spaniard’s performances.

According to a report by the Sun, Chelsea is looking forward to signing Manchester United’s goalkeeper Dean Henderson, who is currently on loan to Sheffield United.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper is having his breakthrough in the Premier League, he has provided 10 clean sheets to Sheffield United, 2nd highest in the league this season so far.

Henderson’s recent performances the bosses at Chelsea and are ready to make him land in London. Kepa was dropped by Lampard for 5 consecutive games after a string of blunders.

Then the Spaniard keeper returned to the team to earn a clean sheet in his first match after rejoining the starting XI. Yet the Chelsea gaffer is not reportedly convinced by him to be Chelsea’s first-choice keeper.

Therefore, Chelsea views him as an economical replacement for Kepa in the next summer. But at the same time, considering his parent club is Manchester United, the rivalry will be a huge obstacle in this business.

Henderson is among the budding goalkeepers in the Premier League and the Red Devils probably perceive him as the heir of David De Gea, who would eventually leave Manchester United in few seasons.

Henderson – who turns 23 this week and is expected to be named in England’s Euro 2020 squad – was already being talked about as a possible replacement for De Gea next season.

But it is understood boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to keep hold of the Spanish stopper, who only signed a new £375,000-a-week contract in September.

Henderson’s loan to Sheffield United will get over by the end of the season, it seems the Red Devils will probably renew his loan deal with the Blades for next season until something accelerates from Chelsea’s side.
