WATCH : Cristiano Ronaldo misses a sitter against Switzerland
In a huge World Cup qualifying match, Portgual had to beat the Swiss at home in order to ensure their passage into Russia.
The Portuguese started off well and got a fortunate goal in the first half. In spite of Swiss pressure, the European champions were in superb form as they finished the match by getting the all important second goal.

Portuguese icon Cristiano Ronaldo played the match on the right, but was not able to perform to his usual lofty standards. The legendary forward was not able to get any of his strikes on target and barely troubled the goal keeper.

At one point though, Ronaldo was through on goal and just had to beat the goal keeper to score. But true to his early seasons woes at Real Madrid, Ronaldo fluffed his lines and embarrassingly missed his opportunity.
Clearly, things are not going too well for the ace forward!
