Chelsea Transfer News: Frank Lampard hints at potential January transfer ahead of their clash against Arsenal in the Premier League.
Chelsea had their transfer embargo revoked last month, following which, they are now free to sign players. However, the club are yet to add to the side with two thirds of the January transfer window gone. Blues manager Frank Lampard has however, ruled out the possibility of bringing in new recruits and has even fuelled the possibility of bringing in PSG striker Edinson Cavani this month.

The Uruguayan forward recently had a bid turned down by PSG from Atletico Madrid as revealed by PSG sporting director Leonardo himself. However, Frank Lampard hasn’t ruled out the possibility of Cavani joining the Blues.
Edinson Cavani to Chelsea
“He’s a great player, I played against him and I always loved his mentality and attitude, and obviously his goal scoring record speaks for itself,” the Chelsea head coach said, when asked about the 32-year-old at his pre-match press conference.
“I’m not absolutely aware of what the situation is, so we’ll see. He’s an experienced player, but so are many other players out there.
“I think we are young, and we know about the transitions. The idea of bringing in experience is something I’m certainly not absolutely looking away from.
“Because sometimes the young players need a little bit of help, and if that’s the case then that may help us.”
Chelsea are currently sitting at 4th in the points table with a 5 point lead over Manchester United and Wolves, both of whom occupy the 5th and 6th position respectively. They will take on London rivals Arsenal later in the night.
The last time the sides faced, Chelsea sneaked in a late win after Arsenal led for most of the match. Chelsea will hope for a repeat of the result while Arsenal will want to put one over their fierce rivals.
