Chelsea wreck Barcelona on Twitter ahead of their pre-season match on Tuesday in Japan.
Chelsea haven’t had the best of starts to their pre-season losing 1-0 to Kawasaki Frontale. They will now look for redemption against far tougher opponents in Barcelona.

Perhaps looking for inspiration or maybe even to hype the match, Chelsea posted a highlights video of their famous semi-final victory in the champions league semi-final from way back in 2012.

Barcelona were quick to respond to the tweet and mocked Chelsea’s absence from Europe’s biggest competition last season.
Is this a throwback to when you guys were playing in the Champions League? 🤔 https://t.co/5BO3MOM7Wf

When all seemed lost for the London blues, Chelsea FC USA account entered the banter and completely bodied Barcelona. The Europa league winners reminded Barcelona of the embarrassing defeat they suffered against Liverpool after gaining a 3-0 lead.

As far as 3 nil leads go, this is the 2nd consecutive Barcelona have squandered a 3-goal lead. Last season they were ousted in the quarters after leading 4-1 against Roma. Roma went on to scare 3 goals to take the game away on away goals.
Barcelona are hoping to overcome their knock out stage failures and have made purchases to help fill the gaps accordingly. The Catalans will look to try out their new signing and possible formations, especially when Messi is not around.
By way of winning the Europa, Chelsea will face Liverpool in the Super Cup. However, they will cross that bridge when they get there. For now, their focus shall lie solely with Barcelona.
A win over the Spanish Champions will lift the morale of the squad. Chelsea have a mostly inexperienced manager, made worse by the fact that they cannot purchase any new players this summer. Overcoming Barcelona will not only set the tone for their new campaign but give them the confidence, should the two clash in the Champions League this season.
