Christian Benteke claims he can still fit in Liverpool's front three

Christian Benteke claims that he can still fit in Liverpool’s front three, even after knowing it is ruled by one of the best forwards in the world.

Liverpool are on an outrageous form and have been maintaining their winning streak in the Premier League and registering the best ever start in the Premier League history.

Much credits goes to the trio of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, who have been scoring fine number of goals to make Liverpool strong enough.

There is no doubt that the trio of Salah, Mane and Firmino is presently the best in the world and can exploit any defensive setup on their day.

However, former Liverpool player Christian Benteke has a slight different opinion after he claims that he can fit into the front three of Liverpool’s lineup.

“People will say I’m making excuses, but everyone knows the club was going through a transition when I was there,” he tells SPORTbible. “If you compare the team from when I was there to the current team, I think there are only three, four players still in the first 11, most of them are new.”

Christian Benteke pauses. “Yeah,” he says, he does think he could do a job in Liverpool’s front line. He pauses again before offering an explanation. “It’s easy to say now because I play for Palace and they play for Liverpool, but when you train every day with the same players and the manager believes in you, it’s easier.”

Meanwhile, the player joined the Reds in 2015 along with Roberto Firmino while Brendan Rodgers was still Liverpool manager but his dream with Merseyside club was cut short as the new manager Jurgen Klopp prefered Firmino over him.

Thus, the Belgian goalscorer left Liverpool for Crystal Palace next year. However, the front three at Liverpool is irreplaceable and all the good things happening at the club is because of the performances put out by them.
