Christian Eriksen Transfer News: Man Utd target pursued by Spanish Giants as the English transfer window nears its end.
Christian Eriksen’s transfer saga has lasted all summer with Tottenham looking to shift the Danish star out of London. Eriksen’s contract with Tottenham is set to end by next year. Following which, the Dane has no intentions of renewing his contract. The club are therefore looking to sell him, lest he leaves on a free.
Eriksen originally wanted to move to Real Madrid. The La Liga giants however, have signed Eden Hazard instead and are not too keen on him anymore. Manchester United have been looking to replace Maroune Fallaini and Ander Herrera in the middle. They have been linked with several players such as Bruno Fernandes, Sean Longstaff and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. United had also kept an eye on Eriksen and at one point, the deal seemed to be a certainty.
Eriksen eyes Spanish move
However, it has now emerged that United have decided against submitting a bid for Eriksen. According to Telegraph, Eriksen has his eyes set on Spain. Solskjaer is only keen on bringing players who want to play for United. He has therefore decided to walk away from the deal.

United have had little encouragement on Eriksen. Discussions not going forward at this stage. United believe he wants to go to Spain. Talks about other targets continuing but possibility there will be no new arrivals before deadline. Solskjaer comfortable with that scenario.

Tottenham have held talks with Atletico Madrid over the possibility of a move. The signs point to Atletico making an offer after the English transfer window concludes on Thursday. The Premier League sides will no longer be able to purchase players from Thursday 5pm BST onwards. However, they are still allowed to sell players.

Atletico will hope that this will help reduce Eriksen’s price further. Tottenham are desperate to sell and may have to relent. They do, after all, have their hands tied in the matter.
