Aaron Finch run-out today: Watch Renegades captain's unfortunate dismissal off Jason Behrendorff in BBL 2020-21

Aaron Finch run-out: The captain of Melbourne Renegades was dismissed in a dismal manner at the Perth Stadium today.

During the 25th match of the ongoing 10th season of the Big Bash League between Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Renegades in Perth, Melbourne Renegades captain Aaron Finch was out cheaply in an unfortunate manner to continue his below par run this season.

It all happened on the last delivery of the second over when veteran Renegades batsman Shaun Marsh nailed a straight drive off Scorchers pacer Jason Behrendorff. While Behrendorff couldn’t stop the well-timed shot, his attempt saw him guiding the ball to the stumps at the non-striker’s end.

With Finch comfortably out of the crease without a whisker of a chance of getting in, the 34-year old player had no option than to walk back to the pavilion.

Having demoted himself to No. 3 at the Perth Stadium today, all Finch could manage was 8 (7). Having scored 132 runs in six BBL 10 innings at an average and strike rate of 22 and 126.92 respectively, Finch is yet to leave an impact this season.

Earlier, it was Finch who had won the toss and invited the hosts in to bat. On the back of a 117-run impact-generating partnership between wicket-keeper batsman Josh Inglis (72*) and batsman Colin Munro (52), Scorchers posted a formidable 185/3 in their allotted quota of 20 overs.

With bowling figures of 4-0-32-2, Renegades pacer Jack Prestwidge was the pick of the bowlers for his team. In addition to Prestwidge, Renegades spinner Noor Ahmad (3-0-36-1) was the only other wicket-taker for them.
