Australian wicket-keeper Alex Carey will remember the ongoing Boxing Day test between Australia and South Africa for life as he scored his maiden test century for Australia on day three of the match. Carey was in sublime touch during the match, and he had the support of his family as well from the stands.

After Tim Paine’s exit from the Australian test team, Carey was made the permanent test keeper of the side, and it is safe to say that he has been excellent for the Australian team. Carey walked onto the field yesterday after Cameron Green was forced to retire, and he played with an aggressive approach.

Carey smashed 13 boundaries in his innings and completed his century on the 2nd ball of the 133rd over. He became just the 2nd Australian keeper after the late Rod Marsh to score a century in a Boxing Day test. Carey threw his wicket away after scoring 111 runs in 149 balls.
