Ashes 2023 Dates And Venues: What Time Does The Ashes Start In England And Australia?
The first Test of Ashes 2023 between England and Australia will be played in Birmingham. It is noteworthy that Edgbaston had hosted the inaugural match of Ashes 2019 as well. Australia won that match by 251 runs and they will be eager to do the same this time round as well.
Interestingly, the same five venues like the last Ashes in England will be used on this occasion. The playing order of the matches is also the exact same. Having hosted the final match of ICC World Test Championship 2021-2023 between Australia and India as recent as last week, The Oval generally hosts a Test towards the end of the summer. This year’s schedule has also been made accordingly.
Lord’s, The Oval and Old Trafford have been consistent venues as far as hosting Ashes Tests in the last three series in England are concerned. Although Trent Bridge is a high-profile stadium in England, it has missed out on hosting an Ashes Test yet again.
