Best Birthday Wishes For Sourav Ganguly On His 51st Birthday

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly is celebrating his 51st birthday today. July has been a lucky month for Indian captains. Former captain MS Dhoni celebrated his birthday yesterday and legendary Sunil Gavaskar‘s birthday is on July 10. Ganguly has been one of the most loved Indian captains and was famous for his backing young players during his tenure.

Top Indian players like Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, etc. were nurtured under Ganguly. Although India won ICC Cricket World Cup in 2011, many of the important players were those who flourished first under Ganguly’s captaincy. Nicknamed ‘Maharaj’ and ‘Dada’ for the rest of the world, legendary Sachin Tendulkar continues to call him ‘Dadi‘.

Ganguly is still a fan-favourite persona and his popularity in Kolkata is second to none. Ganguly’s career was one hell of a ride where he had a lot of ups and downs. His iconic shirt wave at the Lord’s balcony is still fresh in each and every fan’s mind. He served as BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) president as well in between 2019-2022.

Ganguly is just one of the five cricketers to have scored 10,000 runs, picked 100 wickets and grabbed 100 catches in history of ODI cricket. On the occasion of his birthday, he received wishes from all around the world on social media platform Twitter.
