Birthday wishes for Yuvraj Singh: Chris Gayle, Shikhar Dhawan and others wish Happy Birthday Yuvraj Singh on Twitter

Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh is celebrating his 41st birthday today. It is safe to say that Yuvraj is one of the best all-rounders to have ever played for the Indian team. He could have some more accolades under his rank, but a life-threatening disease, Cancer, hampered his career.

India won the ICC World Cup 2011, and it is safe to say that it would have been impossible without Yuvraj’s contributions with both bat and the ball. He won the player of the tournament award, where he scored 362 runs with the bat and scalped 15 wickets with the ball. Just after the World Cup, he was diagnosed with Cancer.

Even Yuvraj said that the disease came at a very wrong time as he was at this peak during that period and everyone wants to take advantage of that period. He made his return to the Indian team in August 2012 in a T20I match against New Zealand, and he was also included in India’s T20 World Cup team that year.

Even during the T20 World Cup in 2007, Yuvraj smashed his half-century in just 12 balls against England, which is the fastest by any player in the T20Is. He also smashed 6 sixes in an over in that match, becoming just the second player after Herschelle Gibbs.

Yuvraj also played a big part in India’s win over England in the Natwest trophy final, where he stitched a partnership with Mohammad Kaif. He played his last international match in 2017, which was an ODI against West Indies.

In IPL, he has played for Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, Royals Challengers Bangalore, Pune Warriors India, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians, where he has managed to score 2750 runs with the help of 13 half-centuries and scalped 36 wickets with the ball.
