Cameron Green injury: Will Cam Green play further part in AUS vs SA Boxing Day Test

Day two of the boxing day test has not been kind to the players. First David Warner walked out of the pitch after suffering cramps, and the Australian team has now suffered yet another injury scare. Cameron Green was also forced to walk out of the field due to a finger injury.

The day belonged to the Australian team where they stamped their authority over South Africa by taking a lead of 197 runs at the end of the day’s play. David Warner proved his very class in the match by scoring a double century, but he was forced to retire as he was suffering a lot of cramps.

Apart from Warner, Smith also faced some blows, but the main concern arrived when Australia’s star all-rounder joined the side’s injury list. It is certain that the Australian team relies a lot on the all-rounder brilliance of Green, and they will definitely pray about his fitness.

Cameron Green injury

Anrich Nortje was bowling the 85th over of the innings, and the incident happened on the 4th ball. It was a short pacy delivery by Nortje, Green tried to play the ball, but it smashed him directly on the gloves. Green was in pain straightaway and he called the physio on the pitch.

There was a clear cut on Green’s knuckle, and it was bleeding as well. Physio cleaned it up, but the pain was enough for Green to walk out of the field. It is certainly not a piece of good news for the Australian side as Green was expected to bowl a lot more overs as the extent of Mitchell Starc’s injury is also not known.

Starc injured his finger while fielding in the first innings and his finger was heavily strapped as well. Green scalped a fifer in the first innings, and if he is unable to bowl in the 2nd innings, it will be really tough for the Australian team to operate without two of their important pacers.

UPDATE: Cameron Green came to but, but he is suffering a fracture. He will not bowl in the 2nd innings and is ruled out of the 3rd test as well.
