Australian opener David Warner is back with a bang in test cricket, and he proved his class in the Boxing Day test against South Africa in Melbourne. The southpaw is playing his 100th test, and he took full use of the occasion to come out of his bad form in test cricket.

Warner got a brilliant start yesterday, and he made sure that this time he did not throw it away. He started the day on a very positive note and ran three runs on his very first ball of the day and smashed a boundary on his 2nd ball. Warner was batting with an aggressive intent and smashed every bad ball for a boundary.

Anrich Nortje’s spell troubled Warner, but he somehow managed to tackle him. On the 1st ball of the 45th over, Warner smashed Rabada for a boundary to complete his century. The iconic Warner’s jump was on the display again, and it is safe to say that he was elated upon reaching his milestone.

Recently, Warner revealed that the captaincy saga has taken a lot of toll on his family as well. Due to his slump in form, there were many shouts that Warner should retire from the test format as he is getting old. Candice said that this knock may finally prove that Warner still belongs to the top level.

“Just incredibly proud and a sense of relief. David’s back has been against the wall, everyone has been saying that he is too old and should retire, but first of all hitting 8000 test runs is a huge milestone, and hitting his century after it. Hopefully, now the people will get off him a little bit,” Candice Warner said to 7Cricket.

It is certain that Warner is very close to his wife and his three children. Warner’s whole family was there to see him play at the Boxing Day Test.
