CSK vs SRH Man of the Match Today: Who out of Ravindra Jadeja and Devon Conway won the MOTM Award at Chepauk?

Chennai Super Kings have returned to winning ways at the MA Chidambaram Stadium after defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad comprehensively in a 7-wicket victory. The development has allowed them to grab the third position on the points table on the back of four wins and two losses in their first six Indian Premier League 2023 matches.

Chasing a 135-run target, CSK had laid a solid foundation for a win on the back of a 66-ball 87-run opening partnership between Ruturaj Gaikwad (35) and Devon Conway (77*). Conway’s third consecutive half-century of the season saw him hitting 12 fours and a six in a winning effort.

Known to play spin well, the left-handed batter never looked to force himself into playing unnecessary attacking shots. Treating the bowlers on merit, Conway excelled in his natural style of play becoming the fourth-highest run-scorer of the season.

If truth be told, Super Kings were put on the driver’s seat by their spinners in the first innings. Maheesh Theekshana and Ravindra Jadeja joining hands to pick combined figures of 8-0-49-3 didn’t allow SRH to build any momentum for themselves.

Jadeja, in particular, emerged as a primary destroyer on the back of a top spell reading 4-0-22-3. Jadeja, who bowled with unmatched disciplined at a venue where he has done well in the past as well, dismissed the likes of Abhishek Sharma (34), Rahul Tripathi (21) and Mayank Agarwal (2).

Jadeja, who also didn’t shy away from picking a verbal battle with Sunrisers wicket-keeper batter Heinrich Klaasen (17), was a deserving winner for the Player of the Match award.

“Coming to Chennai [and] looking at the wicket gives me a lot of happiness. You know it’s going to turn. I had in my mind to not bowl too full. Important to keep wicket to wicket. CSK fans always support us, no matter we win or lose,” Jadeja told host broadcaster Star Sports Network during the post-match presentation ceremony.
