Delhi Capitals finally won their first match of the tournament after losing five games on the trot. Delhi’s captain David Warner is amongst the top-three run-scorers of Indian Premier League 2023, but he has not been able to take his team over the line. Warner’s strike-rate has been questioned a lot this season.

The southpaw has scored 285 runs in the tournament at an average of 47.50 with the help of four half-centuries. However, his S/R has been just 120.76 which is a major thing of concern for the side. Delhi’s next match is against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium and Warner has some very happy memories from that ground.
Warner represented Hyderabad from 2014 to 2021 and he is one of the crowd favourites. Under his leadership only, the Hyderabad franchise won their maiden IPL title by beating Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2016 final.

David Warner Stats at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium
Warner’s IPL record in Hyderabad is quite impressive with the bat. He has managed to score 1602 runs in 31 innings at an average of 66.75. He has smashed three centuries and 15 half-centuries, whereas his S/R has been 161.65. These numbers will definitely boost the morale of Delhi Capitals’ fans.
It is surprising that Warner has not played a single T20I or ODI in Hyderabad. He has played just one Test here where he scored 32 runs in a couple of innings of that match. SRH’s bowling has been struggling this season and Warner’s wicket is going to be really important.
Format | Innings | Runs | Average | Strike Rate | 100 | 50 |
IPL | 31 | 1602 | 66.75 | 161.65 | 3 | 15 |
T20Is | DNP | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |

David Warner head to head record against Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Warner will be opening the batting for Delhi, whereas pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be bowling with the new ball for Hyderabad. In IPL, Warner has scored just 17 runs in 18 balls against Kumar. Kumar has not dismissed Warner in IPL so far.
Talking about overall T20s, Kumar has been able to take Warner’s wicket once by conceding 28 runs in 32 balls. It is clear that Kumar has an upper hand over Warner as far as T20 format is concerned.
