“Friendly Ball Game”: Virat Kohli Threatens To Hit Shubman Gill In The Crotch During WTC Final 2023

India might be way behind Australia in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship 2021-2023 final at the Kennington Oval but the overall mood in the camp seems to be a stress-free one. Star Indian batters in Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill were involved in one such moment of hilarity which they themselves would never wish the camera had spotted.

Only a few minutes into the morning session on Day 4, Kohli decided to have some fun with the team’s opening batter as the two were on their way to take their respective positions in the slip cordon.

The former Indian captain took a carefree walk towards the 23-year-old, and out of nowhere, threatened to hit him in the crotch. As an impulsive reaction, Gill quickly manned the area using both his hands and nonchalantly came up with a funny gesture as an after-reaction.

The way they casually stood in their respective positions post the funny moment is perhaps a testament to the camaraderie they share despite an 11-year age difference between the two.

As the short video clip of the same quickly became viral across social media platforms, fans came up with the most hilarious and creative reactions to the funny moment.

A certain Twitter user posted the picture with the comment, “Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill: Keeping the team spirit high with a friendly ‘ball’ game”!.

Another verified user remarked that it was one of Kohli’s way to remind Gill to always be ready for a ball that comes in suddenly! Gill was, in fact, clean bowled by Australia pacer Scott Boland in the first innings to a delivery that nipped back in considerably after pitching.

As far as the match proceeding is concerned, India have managed to scalp a couple of wickets by Lunch, Day 4. Having said that, the Aussie lead has already swelled up to 374 runs in their second innings.

Alex Carey (41*) and Mitchell Starc (11*) are presently unbeaten at the crease, and have already added 34 runs for the seventh wicket.
