During the third day of the third Test of the ongoing India’s tour of Australia in Sydney, Australia fast bowler Josh Hazlewood put on display a masterly fielding performance to run-out India batsman Hanuma Vihari.
It all happened on the second delivery of the 68th over when Vihari made an effort to sneak a quick single but it wasn’t to be as the same led to his dismissal.
Having come down the track to Australia spinner Nathan Lyon, Vihari set out to run after hitting the ball towards the right of Hazlewood at mid-off. Moving swiftly towards the ball, Hazlewood immaculately dived, collected the ball and registered a direct-hit to comfortably find Vihari short of his crease.

Coming in to bat at No. 5 in the 55th over, Vihari walked back to the pavilion after scoring 4 (38). It seemed as if the pressure of playing too many dot balls got the better of the right-hand batsman.
Earlier, it was Australia vice-captain Pat Cummins who sent back India captain Ajinkya Rahane (22) after the latter played on a delivery to his stumps.
While wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant’s presence has provided some quick runs to the visitors, they still need a substantial partnership to chase down Australia’s first-innings total of 338.

How Twitterati reacted:
Outrageous work from Josh Hazlewood!
The big man dives, throws and knocks the stumps down to run out Vihari 😱#AUSvIND pic.twitter.com/rKawFMxQw3

That runout was solely down to all the bull we hear about intent. Totally unnecessary run at this stage of the game, chancing a direct throw from an Aussie fielder which then happened.
p.s – Vihari is starting to run out of chances. #AusvInd
