Heather Knight, captain of England Women’s cricket team, started playing the game at a tender age of eight. Knight’s family has always been supportive of her playing cricket. She used to play in the backyard with her brother and slowly progressed to become one of the bests in the circuit.

Knight was born on December 26, 1990, in Rochdale, England. Her family moved to Plymouth when she was young where she started her cricketing journey. She joined the Plymstock Cricket Club and went on to play for its men’s first XI. Knight played Devon League Cricket with the men’s team and was the only female to do so.
Not just cricket, Knight is academically very sound as well. She was offered a place at the University of Cambridge to study natural sciences. Knight denied the opportunity in order to prioritize the game. Instead, she pursued B.Sc (Bachelor in Science) in Physiology at Cardiff University in 2012. Knight’s nickname is Trev.

Talking about Knight’s family, Mike Knight is her father and Becky Knight is her mother. The profession of both of them is unknown. Steve Knight is her elder brother and Heather once revealed how both of them used to play together in childhood. She started viewing cricket as her career path four years after her international debut.
“My brother and I played in the back garden, and we both joined the local cricket club, Plymstock CC. I spent most of my childhood there playing in the boys’ and men’s teams, but didn’t really view cricket as a potential career path until I’d spent four years playing for England and professional contracts came in.”
Talking about Knight’s love life, she is unmarried as of now. However, it is noteworthy that she got engaged to her longtime boyfriend Tim Bromfield in 2018. Bromfield is an accountant by profession. Both of them have been spotted together on multiple occasions. There is no news about when both of them will get married.

Heather Knight Achievements
Knight received an OBE (Order of the British Empire) in 2018 for leading England to ODI World Cup glory the previous. She also received Honorary Fellowships from Cardiff University in the same year.
Knight recently represented Royal Challengers Bangalore in Women’s Premier League 2023. Surprisingly, she got sold at her base price of INR 40 lakh in the auction. Knight scored 135 runs in the tournament at an average of 22.50 and scalped four wickets as a part-time spinner.
