"I am Iron Man": Umaid Asif launches Iron Man celebration after dismissing Faheem Ashraf in PSL 2021

Umaid Asif launches Iron Man celebration: The veteran pacer from Peshawar Zalmi celebrated in a unique manner at the National Stadium.

During the 10th match of the ongoing sixth season of the Pakistan Super League between Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United in Karachi, veteran Peshawar Zalmi pacer Umaid Asif put on display a celebration which has it in it to be emulated by other bowlers after picking a wicket.

Playing his first PSL 2021 match, Asif was brought into the attack to bowl the last over of the powerplay. It took the 36-year old player only a couple of deliveries to send back Islamabad United all-rounder Faheem Ashraf after he mis-timed a pull to Tom Kohler-Cadmore at mid-wicket.

Having got instant success, Asif didn’t shy away from celebrating in his unique preferred manner at the National Stadium. The fact that Ashraf’s dismissal had reduced United 41/3 inside the powerplay called for such a celebration from the bowler.

Ashraf, who was promoted up the order to No. 4, departed after scoring 2 (4) when he was expected to up the ante after his team lost a couple of their overseas batsmen cheaply.

Earlier, it was Zalmi captain Wahab Riaz who had won the toss and invited the opposition in to bat. While Zalmi are at the third position on the points table with two victories in three matches so far, United are at a position ahead with yet to taste loss this season.
