IND vs SL ODI squad 2023: India vs Sri Lanka ODI player list 2023

The Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati will host the first of the three-match ODI series between India and Sri Lanka on January 10 (Tuesday), after the former lifted the T20I series 2-1 with a 91-run victory in the final match.

Hardik Pandya will be relegated to the position of the team’s vice-captain, with all-format skipper Rohit Sharma back in the side after recovering from his thumb injury. He will also be joined by the experienced top-order batters in former skipper Virat Kohli and KL Rahul.

Having last played international Cricket in September 2022, pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been declared fit by the National Cricket Academy (NCA), and thus has been included for the three ODIs as well.

Notable absentee from the squad is the experienced Southpaw opener Shikhar Dhawan, with the management perhaps looking to hand sufficient opportunities to the likes of other openers in Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan, with the ODI World Cup this year at sight.

As for Sri Lanka, allrounder Dasun Shanaka will lead the side in the ODIs as well, with allrounder Nuwanidu Fernando as the lone addition to their 17-member squad from the T20I series.
