India vs Sri Lanka T20 Playing 11 today: Predicted India vs Sri Lanka 2023 Playing 11

The home season of the Indian cricket team will start with a series against Sri Lanka. Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium will be hosting the 1st T20I of the series tomorrow, which will be the first T20I match at Wankhede after more than 3 years of wait.

The senior players are rested from the T20Is, and Hardik Pandya will again lead the side, whereas Suryakumar Yadav will be his deputy. A lot of things have been said about the intent of the Indian team in T20Is, and it will be interesting to see how the Indian team will approach the T20I series.

By winning the Asia Cup last year, Sri Lanka proved to the world that they have the ability to beat any team on their day. They are a great team in the subcontinent conditions and will try their best to ruin the party for the Indian team.

India vs Sri Lanka T20 Playing 11 today

It will be interesting to see the playing 11 of the Indian team in the 1st T20I match. Some of the players automatically get a place, and there is a fight for some places. Ishan Kishan is an automatic choice as an opener, but it will be interesting to see his opening partner.

Shubman Gill may get the nod over Ruturaj Gaikwad in the first T20I match. Gaikwad had a brilliant domestic season, but just the fact that Gill is with the team constantly, he may get his chance first. Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav are certain starters, whereas Deepak Hooda’s ability to bowl also seals a spot for him.

Sanju Samson has done enough to seal a spot as well in the middle order. Washington Sundar may edge Axar Patel for the all-rounder’s role. Axar had a terrible T20 World Cup, whereas Sundar has always bowled great in the powerplay. Sundar is an excellent batter as well, and he was used at the number 4 position as well in the recent ODIs against Bangladesh.

Yuzvendra Chahal will lead the spin attack, whereas there is no doubt over the pacers as well. For Sri Lanka, they almost have a settled playing 11 in this format. Avishka Fernando is making his return, and he can get an edge over Dhananjaya de Silva in the first match.

India Playing 11: Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Sanju Samson, Hardik Pandya, Deepak Hooda, Washington Sundar, Harshal Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik.

Sri Lanka Playing 11: Kusal Mendis, Pathum Nissanka, Avishka Fernando, Charith Asalanka, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Dasun Shanaka, Wanindu Hasaranga, Chamika Karunaratne, Maheesh Theekshana, Lahiru Kumara, Pramod Madushan.
