Dishant Yagnik tests positive for COVID-19: The former player has been advised to get admitted to a hospital for 14 days.
Former Rajasthan Royals wicket-keeper batsman and current fielding coach Dishant Yagnik has been tested positive for COVID-19 in his hometown Udaipur. The test was conducted keeping in mind the fact that all players and support staff have to assemble in Mumbai next week before boarding the flight to UAE for IPL 2020.
Yagnik, 37, has been advised to get admitted to a hospital for the next two weeks. As per BCCI’s protocol, Yagnik will have to return two negative tests after a two-week quarantine period before joining the squad in UAE.
Upon reaching UAE, Yagnik will again have to self-isolate for six days and return another three negative results with respect to COVID-19. The strict protocols are in place to ensure everyone’s safety during the 13th season of the Indian Premier League.

“The franchise implemented an extra test for all players, support staff and management travelling to the UAE in addition to the two tests recommended by BCCI, to ensure as robust a process as possible.
“We request everyone who has been in close proximity to Dishant in the past 10 days to self isolate and get tested for COVID-19,” read a statement issues by Rajasthan Royals. The franchise also confirmed that none of the IPL players came in close proximity of Yagnik in the last 10 days.
Yagnik, who had talked about players sticking to their fitness routines during the COVID-19 lockdown, himself took to social media platform Twitter to provide details of his health and make public that people who came in his vicinity in the last 10 days should get themselves tested.
