After a lot of drama and rain, Indian Premier League 2023 finally has its winner. Chennai Super Kings defeated Gujarat Titans in a last ball thriller by 5 wickets. Requiring 10 runs off the final two deliveries Ravindra Jadeja hit the winning runs for the ‘Yellow Army’. IPL is one of the most wealthiest tournaments in the world and apart from the winning amount, there were many individual awards up for grabs as well.

The winners of the Orange Cap (Most Runs) and Purple Cap (Most Wickets) will get a cheque of INR 10 Lakh each. There were trophies and prizes for best catch and fastest ball as well. Let’s have a look at all the awards grabbed by the players in the IPL 2023 presentation ceremony.
IPL 2023 Awards List
IPL 2023 Orange cap
Gujarat’s Shubman Gill won the Orange Cap of IPL 2023. The way Gill batted this season was a treat for the spectators and once he took off, he didn’t look back. He scored 890 runs at an average of 59.33, whereas his strike rate was 157.80.
Bangalore’s captain Faf du Plessis finished at the second position in the list. He scored 730 runs at an average of 56.15, whereas his strike rate was 153.68. du Plessis was consistent throughout the tournament, but he could not take his side to the playoffs.
IPL 2023 Purple Cap
The bowlers of Gujarat dominated the tournament and all the top-3 spots were grabbed by their players only. Mohammed Shami and Rashid Khan always dominated the proceedings, whereas Mohit Sharma came out of nowhere to finsh in the three best bowlers of the tournament.
Shami eventually received the Purple Cap for his 28 wickets across 17 innings, at an average and economy rate of 18.64 and 8.03 rpo respectively.
IPL 2023 Emerging Player
Rajasthan Royals opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal won the Emerging player of the season award for amassing 625 runs across 14 innings, at an average and strike rate of 48.07 and 163.61 respectively.
IPL 2023 Most Valuable Player
The Orange Cap winner of the season, Gujarat Titans opening batter Shubman Gill won the Most Valuable Player awards. He collected a total of 343 MVP points.
IPL 2023 Catch of the Season
Rashid Khan’s catch to dismiss Lucknow Super Giants opening batter Kyle Mayers, was adjudged the ‘Catch of the Season’.
IPL 2023 Fairplay Award
Despite finishing ninth in the points table, Delhi Capitals did walk away with the Fair Play award.
IPL 2023 Fours of the Season
Shubman Gill yet again walked away with this prize. He hit a total of 85 fours in IPL 2023.
IPL 2023 Longest Six Award
RCB skipper Faf du Plessis smashed a total of 36 sixes this season. He not only smashed the maximum sixes, but also the longest in 115 meters.
IPL 2023 Super Striker of the Season
For scoring runs at a strike rate of 183.89 this IPL year, RCB’s star batter Glenn Maxwell won the Super Striker of the season award.
IPL 2023 Game Changer
Shubman Gill received the Dream 11 Game changer award this IPL season.
