The Indian Premier League 2023 auction is underway in Kochi, and we have seen some record buys in the auction. All the teams are shaping up well, and it will be interesting to see the final squads of all ten teams at the end. Just like every season, some big names went unsold in the auction.

Sam Curran got the highest bid in the history of the IPL auction, where Punjab Kings bought him for a staggering price of INR 18.50 crores. Apart from him, the all-round duo of Cameron Green (INR 17.50 crores to MI) and Ben Stokes (INR 16.25 crores to CSK) also got big bucks in the auction.
Sunrisers Hyderabad went hard in the very first round of the batters, where they bought Harry Brook and Manish Pandey for hefty prices. Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders are quite low on budget, and they are not able to make some big money signings.
IPL unsold players list 2023
In the IPL mini-auction, more players get unsold as compared to the players who get some or other kinds of bids. Joe Root gave his name again in the auction, but he again got unsold. Root has never played in the IPL, and the wait will go on a little bit longer. Even Bangladesh’s ace all-rounder Shakib al Hasan went unsold in the auction.
Amongst the Indian players, the spin duo of Murugan Ashwin and Shreyas Gopal did not receive any bids. This is kind of a surprise as both of them have got a lot of experience playing on the Indian pitches, and they have done well in the IPL as well. Some other T20 specialists like Jimmy Neesham, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Banton, etc also remained unsold.
