Which players RCB bought today: RCB team 2023 buy players list

Royal Challengers Bangalore is one of the most fan favourite IPL franchises, but they are still aiming to get their first IPL trophy. They have come close to winning the tournament, but they have choked in the big matches. Currently, they are aiming to make a good team for IPL 2023.

Virat Kohli left the captaincy last season, and Faf du Plessis was named the new captain of the side. RCB managed to qualify for the playoffs last season as well, but they failed to make their mark in the playoffs. Ahead of the IPL 2023 auction, they retained most of their players.

It is certain that RCB won’t buy many players in the auction as they have budget constraints and most of the squad is already set. They will again be a team to watch out for in the tournament.

Which players RCB bought today

Ahead of the auction, the RCB had just INR 8.75 crores in their budget, and it was really difficult for them to buy their favourite players as the other teams have a lot more balance in their purses. They tried to go after so many players, but they failed to get them.

They first went after English batter Harry Brook, but they had to back out at INR 7.25 crores, and Brook went to Sunrisers Hyderabad for a price of INR 13.25 crores in the end. RCB also tried to rope in Indian batter Mayank Agarwal, but they failed yet again, he was bought by SRH also at the end.

When Sam Curran came into the auction, it was a surprise that RCB went after him as it was impossible for them to get him. In the end, Curran became the most expensive player in the history of the tournament. RCB also tried to buy Ben Stokes and Cameron Green, but it was impossible for them to buy those two as well.

It will be interesting to see the players that will be bought by RCB in the auction as they have shown some top intentions. RCB bought English pacer Reece Topley for a price of INR 1.90 crores. They also got the servies of Himanshu Sharma for INR 20 Lacs and getting English all-rounder Will Jacks for INR 3.2 crores is also a great piece of business.

RCB needed a left-arm pacer after they traded Jason Behrendorff, and they got that in Reece Topley. They did not need many players as they already have a settled squad. The addition of Will Jacks is welcome addition to the side considering his versatility to bat at any position and his spin is a bonus.

RCB IPL 2023 Auction picks: Reece Topley (INR 1.9 crores), Will Jacks (INR 3.2 crores), Himanshu Sarma (INR 20 Lacs), Manoj Bhandage (INR 20 Lacs), Rajan Kumar (INR 70 Lacs), Avinash Singh (INR 60 Lacs), Sonu Yadav (INR 20 Lacs).
