Jasprit Bumrah fight: Bumrah and Jos Buttler involved in heated exchange at Lord's; Virat Kohli exults after Bumrah scores boundary

Jasprit Bumrah fight: The Indian fast bowler was in the middle of a heated exchange with the English wicket-keeper at Lord’s.

During the fifth day of the second Test of the ongoing India’s tour of England at Lord’s, India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah continued to be a source of amazement albeit with the bat this time.

Coming in to bat at No. 10 in the 90th over, Bumrah played sensibly to collect runs without taking much risk. It was after the completion of the 92nd over that Bumrah and England wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler were involved in a heated exchange.

While the reason behind the same remains unknown, Bumrah and Buttler were intervened by on-field umpire Richard Illingworth, who also had discussion with England captain Joe Root.

After intense scenes in the middle, Bumrah welcomed England fast bowler Mark Wood by cutting him for a boundary on the first ball of the next over. Watching the match from the Lord’s balcony, India captain Virat Kohli was seen exulting after watching the way Bumrah was batting.

In the same over, Wood bowled a brutal bouncer which ended up hitting Bumrah on the grille of his helmet. The right-handed batsman subsequently underwent a concussion test.

Readers must note Bumrah and veteran England pacer James Anderson had a go at each other at the end of England’s first innings on Day 3.

Twitter reactions on Jasprit Bumrah:

Jasprit Bumrah highest Test score

Bumrah, whose career-best score of 28 (34) had come as recent as the last Test in Nottingham, is all in likeliness of going past his highest Test score in successive Tests.

It is worth mentioning that Bumrah and Mohammed Shami have put together a 50-run stand for the ninth wicket to put India in a comparatively safe position on the final day of this match.

Shami, the dominant partner in the partnership so far, would be looking to score his second Test half-century. The 30-year old player had scored his maiden half-century in a 111-run partnership for the 10th wicket alongside Bhuvneshwar Kumar during India’s tour of England 2014 at Trent Bridge.
