With players getting injured becoming a given especially with teams having to travel frequently for the home and away matches in the IPL, the ones remaining unsold during the auction almost always have their fingers crossed in optimism, and are in expectation of a phone call from one of the franchises.

A beneficiary of the same a few hours ago was team India’s former middle-order batter Kedar Jadhav, who was surprisingly roped in by the Royal Challengers Bangalore as an injury replacement of their bowling allrounder David Willey.
Usually a middle-order batter, the rationale behind Jadhav’s inclusion for the remainder of the season might have to do with the franchise’s ordinary returns with the bat during the death Overs (16-20). In the previous six matches, RCB batters have just not been able to up their power hitting game, being unable to score 50+ runs in any of these matches during this period.
Has Kedar Jadhav Represented RCB in the Past?
Yes. Kedar Jadhav had played for the RCB during the 2016 and 2017 edition of the tournament. While he was handed mere four matches during his first stint with the franchise, he played 13 matches the next year.
Across these two years, he managed to score just one half-century and amassed a total of 309 runs at an average and strike rate of 25.75 and 141.74 respectively.
Kedar Jadhav IPL Teams List
Kedar Jadhav has represented as many as five franchises so far in his IPL career, which began during the 2010 edition of the league.
Having made his debut with the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), he played for the now defunct Kochi Tuskers Kerala during the 2011 season.
The now 39-year-old was yet again roped in by the Delhi franchise a year later, and played for them across three seasons – 2013-2015, after which he was traded to RCB for the next couple of years.
Representing the Chennai Super Kings for the next three seasons, he then put up an ordinary show for Sunrisers Hyderabad during the 2021 edition.
The veteran batter then remained unsold during the players auction ahead of the 2022 and 2023 edition of the league.
