Kolkata Eden Gardens Weather Report: What's the Weather for KKR vs LSG IPL 2023 Match on May 20?

Outdoor practice was severely affected on the eve of Indian Premier League 2023 Match 68 between Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants in Kolkata due to persistent rain throughout several parts of the day. In what is going to be the last league match of the season for both these teams and last match for this particular venue, a washout on the penultimate day of the league phase would be an absolute shame.

Assuming that weather gods play spoilsport at the Eden Gardens tomorrow, it will become the sixth IPL 2023 match to get interrupted by rain. It is noteworthy that only one match of the season has been abandoned due to rain thus far. Co-incidentally, it was one of Super Giants’ home matches against Chennai Super Kings earlier this month.

Kolkata Eden Gardens Weather Report

As far as weather in Kolkata for May 20 is concerned, an unpleasant update with respect to the same is that rain is expected to make its presence felt in the city. That being said, a pleasant update regarding weather in and around the city is that is isn’t predicted to rain during the match hours.

Going by reliable weather portal AccuWeather, Eden Gardens is likely to be brought under covers during the afternoon on Saturday. Rain probability in excess of 50% around the first match of the double header day could get reduced to 32% by 06:00 PM (local time). With the toss scheduled to happen at 07:00 PM, a maximum of a delay to the same could happen as per the weather prediction.

Speaking particularly of the playing hours, there’s a 0% rain probability between 07:30 PM to midnight. Hence, chances of a second rain abandoned match of the season appear scanty unless there’s a last-minute change in weather.
