Kolkata Pitch Report for KKR vs SRH IPL 2023 Match at Eden Gardens

Kolkata Knight Riders will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 19th league match of Indian Premier League 2023. The match will take place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. This ground has hosted some terrific T20 encounters in the past, and the track will again be looked at with keen interest.

The Knight Riders have won two of their three matches in the tournament so far. Batter Rinku Singh was the side’s hero in the last match, whereas the duo of Venkatesh Iyer and Nitish Rana was also incredible with the bat. Andre Russell is struggling for this side, and it is a major worry.

After two successive losses, Sunrisers Hyderabad finally won their last match. Leg-spinner Mayank Markande was brilliant in the last match, and he will enjoy bowling on this surface too. The likes of Harry Brook, Mayank Agarwal and Aiden Markram will have to fire with the bat in this match.

The track at Eden Gardens is generally a batting paradise. It is a flat wicket with an even bounce on the offering. The batters will be able to play their shots at merit, and the fast outfield will make the work very tough for the fielders.

It is evident that the fast bowlers have done really well here with the new ball. In the initial overs, there is a visible movement for them. However, once the batters get set, there are no visible demons here. In the last match, the spinners of KKR just ripped apart the batting of Royal Challengers Bangalore, and they will be a threat in this match as well.

The average first innings score in IPL 2019 matches played here was 191 runs, this stat is enough to describe the track’s nature. With very short boundaries, it will be really easy to smash sixes here. Both captains would love to chase as dew can play a very big part in the second innings.
