Lavington Sports Ground pitch report: Albury pitch report for THU vs HUR today BBL match

Albury’s Lavington Sports Oval will host the 22nd league match of the BBL 12 season between Sydney Thunder and Hobart Hurricanes. Both teams have not played that well in the tournament, and it will be interesting to see a BBL match being played at a new venue.

After losing three games on the trot, Sydney Thunder have won their last two matches. The bowlers of the side have done well for the side, and the way the side’s batters played in the last match will give them a lot of confidence going forward in the tournament. Alex Hales will again be the lead batter of the side.

Hobart Hurricanes have won two of their four games in the tournament, and they would want to bounce back after the last defeat. Matthew Wade will be back for this match, but Ben McDermott is still on the sidelines. This is one of the most balanced teams in the tournament, and they are just looking for a good rhythm.

Lavington Sports Ground pitch report

Albury’s Lavington Sports Oval will be hosting its first-ever BBL game, so it is certainly a very special occasion for the venue and the city. This ground has hosted an ODI game, but it was way back in 1992, so certainly it is quite difficult to talk about the exact nature of the wicket.

However, it is certain that a fresh pitch is expected at the venue, and the Australian pitches generally have a good amount of bounce that the batters will enjoy. The new Kookaburra ball can move a bit in the initial overs giving some help to the pacers. It is multi-specialty ground, so the square boundaries are a little bigger than the straighter ones.

On a new track, the ideal trend is to bowl first and have a look at the surface, and the same can happen in this match as well. The bowling of both sides looks quite decent on paper.
