MCG Weather 15 December: Melbourne Cricket Ground weather forecast for today BBL match between Stars and Hurricanes

Melbourne Stars will take on the Hobart Hurricanes today (Friday), in what will be the first Big Bash League 2022-23 match for both the sides, at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

The Stars will need to pull their socks up as far as their batting department is concerned, with none of their batters playing a significant knock during their tournament opener against Sydney Thunder, which resulted in their one-wicket loss at the Manuka Oval. The likes of Joe Clark, Joe Burns, and Marcus Stoinis will have to do majority of the heavy work, as the line-up is bereft of a power hitter with Glenn Maxwell out of the league due to injury.

The Hurricanes, on the other hand, look like the team to beat at first glance in the ongoing season with quite a few T20 stars in their squad.

Previous season highest run-getter Ben McDermott, will have the assistance of renowned aggressive batters in Tim David, Matthew Wade, Shadab Khan, and Asif Ali, with James Neesham and Zak Crawley also in the mix.

How far they fare up this season will, however, be decided on the way their bowling line-up perform.
