Mohammad Hafeez brush-off celebration: Watch Hafeez's funny celebration after dismissing Jake Weatherald in PSL 2021

Mohammad Hafeez brush-off celebration: The veteran Lahore Qalandars’ batsman justified the decision to introduce him into the bowling attack.

During the 23rd match of the ongoing sixth season of the Pakistan Super League between Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators in Abu Dhabi, Lahore Qalandars’ Mohammad Hafeez created instant impact with his two-over spell by dismissing Quetta Gladiators’ top-scorer Jake Weatherald.

Bowling for the first time in the second leg of PSL 2021, Hafeez gave away just 12 runs in his two overs in addition to sending back a well-set opening batsman.

It was on the penultimate delivery of the 10th over when Weatherald misjudged the length of Hafeez’s comparatively fuller delivery. Wanting to pull Hafeez, the southpaw found himself in an awkward position as he missed the call completely. The dismissal led Hafeez to put on display a hilarious brush-off-the-shoulders celebration.

Opening the batting with Usman Khan (0), Weatherald played exceedingly well for his 48 (41) comprising of eight fours and a six. Other than Weatherald, Gladiators captain Sarfaraz Ahmed scored 34* (27) with the help of three fours and a six to power his team to 158/5 in 20 overs.

After Lahore captain Sohail Akhtar won the toss and chose to field, it was James Faulkner who not only drew first blood but also was the pick of their bowlers with figures of 4-0-25-3. Other than Faulkner and Hafeez, spinner Rashid Khan also picked a wicket at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium.
