The first of the five T20Is between New Zealand and Australia will be played at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch tomorrow to kick-start the second half of the summer season in New Zealand.
The last time that New Zealand and Australia played against each other in this format was exactly three years ago when Australia and England traveled to New Zealand for a triangular series. Australia would be wanting to take confidence from their victory in 2018 ahead of this series.
Leaving aside Ireland (1), UAE (1), Zimbabwe (3) and Bangladesh (4), Australia have played the least amount of T20Is against New Zealand. Applying the same filter in addition to Kenya (1), Netherlands (1) and Scotland (1) for New Zealand, they have also played the least amount of T20Is against Australia.
