Oman cricket Ground: List of venues for ICC T20 World Cup 2021

Oman cricket Ground: The stadium has been incorporated as the fourth venue for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2021.

After the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) finalized the moving of ICC T20 World Cup 2021 to the UAE yesterday, ICC (International Cricket Council) have finalized venues for the world event.

In what will be the first T20 World Cup in the last decade and a half, it will be a 16-team event played across two phases between October 17 – November 14. The first phase will see eight teams playing for four spots to join the top eight-ranked teams.

12 teams will then be divided into two groups of six each. After playing five league matches, top two teams from both the groups will move to the semi-final stage.

As far as the venues are concerned, Dubai International Stadium (Dubai), Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium (Abu Dhabi), Sharjah Cricket Stadium (Sharjah) and Oman Cricket Academy Ground (Muscat) will be hosting T20 World Cup 2021. Readers must note that this will be the first major world event for the Oman Cricket Academy Ground.

The BCCI is looking forward to hosting the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 tournament in UAE and Oman. We would have been happier hosting it in India but considering the uncertainty due to the Covid 19 situation and the importance of a world championship, the BCCI will now continue to host this tournament in UAE and Oman. The BCCI is looking forward to creating a spectacle,” BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said in a statement.
