Perth’s Optus Stadium is set to host the 1st test of the 2-match series between Australia and West Indies starting Wednesday. This is the first test of the Australian home summer this season. A fresh track is ready at the Optus Stadium, and Perth has always attracted pace bowlers.

Australia have announced their playing for the 1st test, and it was almost a predictable squad. Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood will lead the pace attack, whereas Nathan Lyon is the lone spinner. Cameron Green is the all-rounder, whereas Usman Khawaja will partner David Warner at the top.
Under the captaincy of Kraigg Brathwaite, the West Indian side would want to deliver in this series. Tagenarine Chanderpaul is expected to make his test debut after an impressive outing in the practice match against Prime Minister’s XI.
Perth Stadium pitch report tomorrow match
Perth’s WACA Stadium used to be the iconic test venue in Perth, but the games are now being played at the Optus Stadium. The track at the WACA was famous for his extra bounce, and the same trait is visible at the Optus Stadium as well, which was seen in the last T20 World Cup as well.
A green top track can be expected to start the match, and the pacers of both sides will love bowling on this track. The bounce may also help the spinners to take wickets as the match goes on. The initial phase will be tough for the batters, but once set, they can play a big knock at this ground.
A couple of tests have been played here so far, and both of them have been won by the teams batting first. The average 1st innings score here is 371 runs, whereas the average 4th innings score is 155 runs. It is certain that batting first has been the mantra to win at this ground.
Interestingly, Nathan Lyon is the joint-highest wicket-taker at the venue along with Mitchell Starc, both of them have scalped 14 wickets each so far. Australia have won both games at this ground quite convincingly, and they will again be trying to do the same.
