Pitch Report of Ahmedabad Stadium for CSK vs GT IPL 2023 Final Today

Indian Premier League 2023 final will be played between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium tonight. Both teams had faced each other in the inaugural match of the tournament as well. We have seen some thrilling encounters at this stadium so far in the tournament.

This will be Chennai’s 10th IPL final and if they can win this, they will equal Mumbai Indians in terms of most IPL titles. The opening duo of Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad will again hold the key in batting. In the last few games, the bowling unit has also stepped up for the Super Kings.

Gujarat’s batter Shubman Gill is in dream form and has scored three centuries in the tournament so far. The bowling department of the side looks extremely potent with the likes of Mohammed Shami, Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmad, Mohit Sharma and Joshua Little. Titans will aim to win their second successive trophy.

For those who love high-scoring encounters, Ahmedabad’s pitch has been made for them. This surface is an absolute beauty to bat on with no help for the bowlers whatsoever. The new ball might generate some movement in the air, but apart from it, the bowlers would want to hide themselves here. In the second innings, the spinners might get some help.

A total of eight matches have been played here and the average first innings score has been 193 runs. The teams who have batted first here have done better than the chasing teams. Out of eight, targets have been successfully defended five teams. Batting first and scoring a big total has been the success formula for this particular venue this season.

The outfield is very fast here, and if timed well, the ball will race away toward the fence. Even the ground dimensions are not in the bowlers’ favour and hitting sixes is not a big task here. One side of the ground is around 73 metres, but the other boundaries are not that huge. Having runs on the board is always a great practice in knockout games and both captains may do the same.
