Ravindra Jadeja throw: Jadeja's pinpoint throw runs out KL Rahul in PBKS vs CSK IPL 2021 match

Ravindra Jadeja throw: The all-rounder from Chennai Super Kings contributed significantly on the field at the Wankhede Stadium.

During the eighth match of the ongoing 14th season of the Indian Premier League between Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings in Mumbai, Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja put on display an exceptional fielding effort to send back Punjab Kings captain Lokesh Rahul.

It all happened on the penultimate delivery of the third over when veteran Punjab batsman Chris Gayle was hit on the pad by a Deepak Chahar delivery. Just when the other fielders were appealing for an lbw, Jadeja’s brilliance from short cover earned his team a wicket.

With Rahul insisting on sneaking a single, Gayle responded well to his call. However, it was Rahul who struggled at the striker’s end as he was found wanting against Jadeja’s direct-hit.

Opening the batting with Mayank Agarwal (0), Rahul departed after scoring 5 (7) as Jadeja’s throw proved too good for him.

In what wasn’t the only contribution by Jadeja, the 32-year old player followed the same with a praiseworthy catch to dismiss Gayle (10) in the fifth over.

Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s decision of winning the toss and electing to field was justified to the best by Chahar as his career-best IPL bowling figures of 4-0-13-4 played a leading role in reducing Punjab to 26/5.
