Ross Whiteley catch vs Northamptonshire: Watch Worcestershire player grabs magnificent diving catch to dismiss Ricardo Vasconcelos in T20 Blast

Ross Whiteley catch vs Northamptonshire: The batsman from Worcestershire put on display an excellent fielding effort in Northampton.

During a North Group match of the ongoing 19th season of T20 Blast between Northamptonshire and Worcestershire in Northampton, Worcestershire batsman Ross Whiteley put on display an excellent fielding effort to contribute to a wicket.

It all happened on the third delivery of the third over when Northamptonshire batsman Ricardo Vasconcelos pulled a Charlie Morris delivery towards Whiteley at deep mid-wicket. With the batsman hitting the ball in the air, a catching opportunity with a fielder in the deep was always there.

With the ball dying on him, Whiteley had to eventually convert his run towards the ball into a dive to complete the catch. Having made it look much easier than it was, the 32-year old player didn’t let the opportunity of dismissing the second opposition batsman in the powerplay go waste.

Coming in to bat at No. 3 in the first over itself, Vasconcelos departed after scoring 1 (6) as the hosts didn’t get to an affirmative start in a 186-run chase.

Morris, who also dismissed Northamptonshire captain Josh Cobb (29), played a vital role alongside his captain Moeen Ali (4-0-21-2) in restricting them to 153/9 in 20 overs.

After Cobb won the toss and invited the visitors in to bat first, Ali led from the front to score a stroke-filled 52 (30) comprising of three fours and four sixes in a ‘Man of the Match’ effort.
