Sawai Mansingh Stadium Dimensions: Jaipur Cricket Stadium Boundary Length in Meter

Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium is set to host an IPL match after a gap of four long years. A total of five games will be played here this season, and the first match will be between Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants tonight. The ‘Pink City’ is all in readiness to host their home team.

Not a lot of matches are played in the city, so there is a lot of buzz amongst the audience as well. The pitch here has always been a lively one where there is help for both batters and bowlers. Rajasthan’s skipper Sanju Samson also said that he is delighted about playing in the city after so long.

During IPL 2019, the Royals lost four of their seven home matches here. This time they would aim to play well in front of their fans. The craze can be judged by the fact that four out of five matches in the city are already sold out on Bookmyshow.

Sawai Mansingh Stadium Dimensions

Talking about the ground dimensions, it is one of the biggest in the country. Unlike Wankhede Stadium, M Chinnaswamy Stadium, etc, hitting sixes won’t be easy in Jaipur. The batters will have to run hard between the wickets to make the most of the size of the ground.

The square boundaries here are around 72 metres, whereas the mid-wicket and straight boundaries are more than 75 metres here. It is clear that the spinners can play a big part by taking full use of the bigger boundary lengths.

In Jaipur, the teams would not want to take the game deep as scoring runs at full flow won’t be a piece of cake. Although, the chasing teams have done well here as the dew factor plays a part.

Highest successful IPL run chase in Jaipur

The highest run-chase at the SMS Stadium has been achieved by Delhi Capitals against the Royals in IPL 2019. Rajasthan scored 191/6 in the first innings, where batter Ajinkya Rahane played a brilliant knock of 105* (63) and Steve Smith scored 50 (32).

Delhi chased the target in just 19.2 overs, where wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant played a blinder of 78 (36) with the help of four sixes and six boundaries. Apart from Pant, batter Shikhar Dhawan also scored a half-century.
