"Sign Gauti and Cheeku": Yuvraj Singh Endorses Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli as Brand Ambassadors for Sprite

Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has come up with a hilarious take on a recent Indian Premier League 2023 fight between Lucknow Super Giants mentor Gautam Gambhir and former Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli.

About 72 hours late to react to an episode which has enticed storming reactions across social media platforms, Singh has primarily tried to make peace between the two, albeit in an unconventional way.

According to the 41-year old, both Gambhir and Kohli should join hands for a commercial endorsement in a bid to promote harmony between two high-profile personalities of the Indian cricket fraternity. Readers must note that the trio has featured together in three Test matches, 31 ODIs and 10 T20Is for India.

Yuvraj Singh Endorses Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli as Brand Ambassadors to Sprite

Sprite, a lemon and lime-flavoured soft drink owned by Coca-Cola company, should sign both Gambhir and Kohli as per Singh. The southpaw also suggested that the two would be ideal contenders to work under their campaign ‘Thand Rakh’ (keep calm).

For the unversed, Gauti and Cheeku are nicknames of Gambhir and Kohli respectively. As far as the ‘Thand Rakh’ campaign is concerned, it was launched by Coca-Cola India right before the onset of the summer season last year.

“Sprite has always been the refreshment of choice for the smart ones. And the smart ones definitely know that when stuck in a heated situation, it’s best to just ‘Thand Rakh’ and get things done, your way without losing your cool,” Sukesh Nayak, chief creative officer, Ogilvy India, had stated in a press release back then.

Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir Rivalry

Not that the two cricketers from Delhi had any ulterior motive for successfully pulling-off a 10-year challenge at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium earlier this week, it’s just that two emotionally-charged individuals make an apt recipe for such a high-octane altercation.

Two people, who wear hearts on their sleeves on a cricket ground, had first registered such a noisy argument in 2013. Taking into consideration the individual stage of careers both are in, one expects them to behave in a much better way in public domain irrespective of who said what or who did what.

What followed for an 8-year-old was an instant adulation for both Ganguly and the sport. The optimist in him is waiting for the day when Punjab Kings will win their maiden Indian Premier League title. When not watching cricket, he is mostly found in a cinema hall watching a Punjabi movie.
