After the tournament couldn’t be conducted last year due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, the fifth season of the Tamil Nadu Premier League is all set to commence in Chennai from today.
The eight-team tournament will witness each teams playing against one another twice in the league stage. Top four teams on the points table will then qualify for the knockout stage beginning from August 10.
Set to be played in a 26-day window at the iconic MA Chidambaram Stadium, TNPL 2021 is almost certain of alluring the eyeballs of the cricketing fraternity once again. Considering how the competition has become a breeding ground for Indian Premier League debutants, it wouldn’t be a surprise if players make the journey from TNPL to IPL this time as well.
