Proving the dynamics of the mini-auction true, an overseas trio capable of contributing across departments have earned a combined gargantuan total of INR 52.25 crore.

Having missed the 15th season of the IPL due to a back injury, England all-rounder Sam Curran broke all records to become the most expensive player in the history of the IPL auctions. Set to join England teammate Jonny Bairstow at Punjab Kings, Curran’s fourth IPL season will be his second one for PBKS. For those who don’t know, Curran had made his IPL debut for Kings in 2019.

Australia all-rounder Cameron Green will play for Mumbai Indians in his maiden IPL season. Other than just alluring a bidder, Green has also become successful in becoming the second-most expensive cricketer in IPL auctions.
Part of the same set as Curran and Green, England Test captain Ben Stokes also broke the bank to be picked by Chennai Super Kings. An insane set and day in all the years of IPL auctions witnessed three players entering the record books within no time.
Having won Player of the Series awards in T20I and Test series in Pakistan on either side of being a T20 World Cup winner last month, England batter Harry Brook also made news on the back of becoming the first cricketer to initiate a bidding war in Kochi today.
