Upon Receiving The MS Dhoni Autograph On Her Canvas Painting, School Girl Gets Emotional During IPL 2023 Final

There are two categories of unrequited love. The first kind generally involves an obsessed lover who doesn’t have the willingness to accept rejection, and is toxic to the core. The other is the one exhibited by the fans. Their love is not only selfless, but a mere acknowledgement of their existence from the individual concerned seems enough for them to attain salvation.

Falling clearly in the second category was a certain school girl, who had arrived with a canvas painting of her icon and role model, Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

It was the final match of the recently concluded Indian Premier League 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. This girl had arrived with a canvas painting (made with threads) of Thala, hoping against hope that somehow the man in it would have a look at the efforts put by her.

As Chennai Super Kings began the chase, a decent spell of rain as if cleared the mist of her dwindling hope and helped her painting arrive in the mainstream.

Heavy rain had meant that Dhoni and the rest of his CSK teammates were sitting in their dressing room. As the match was halted for some decent time, it was enough for the passionate fans to have a much closer look at Dhoni and the squad from the shelter roof in front of the room.

Having been used to such undivided attention of fans over the years, the 41-year-old had very little option but to remain calm and not get distracted by the requests of his supporters.

Girl Realizes Her Little Dream

However, there was no way that the man could have ignored the beautiful painting which the girl was repeatedly waving towards him while holding the marker in her hand for his autograph. Finally, Dhoni sent pacer Simarjeet Singh to fetch the painting from below the glass ceiling.

It did not need an acute observer to comprehend what Dhoni’s signature to the painting had meant to her as tears of joy rolled down her cheeks.
