Wanindu Hasaranga Wife Name: How Many Children Does RCB Spinner Have?

Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga is representing Royal Challengers Bangalore in Indian Premier League 2023. The leg-spinner’s stature has grown leaps and bounds in the shortest format of the game. He got married in March this year to his long-time girlfriend Vindya.

It is interesting that Hasaranga used to be a pacer when he was 16 years of age. He started his cricketing career at Richmond College in Galle and was the main fast bowler of that side. Hasaranga’s coach Lanka de Silva spotted the spin talent in him and made him switch his bowling style.

Hasaranga listened to his coach and the rest is history. He represented the Sri Lanka U-19 team at the ICC U-19 World Cup in Bangladesh in 2016. He took seven wickets in the tournament and helped his side to reach the semi-final stage. In the 2017 Sri Lankan cricket awards, he was judged as the most prolific player in the domestic season.

Hasaranga married Vindya in an intimate ceremony at the Water’s Edge Hotel in Battaramulla (Sri Lanka). Both of them shared adorable pictures of each other on social media platforms. The wedding was a surprise to many as Hasaranga never shared anything about her girlfriend in the public forum.

Hasaranga comes from a very humble background and he started his cricketing career very late. The details about his parents are not available in the public domain as of yet. His elder brother Chaturanga de Silva has also represented the national team in two T20Is and seven ODIs.

Hasaranga created history when he became the first Sri Lankan bowler to perform a hat-trick on his ODI debut. Against Zimbabwe in 2017, he took the wickets of Malcolm Waller, Donald Tiripano and Tendai Chatara off consecutive deliveries.
