WATCH: Fan Proposes Girlfriend Amid IND vs AUS WTC Final 2023 At The Oval

Term it cringe or get floored with the romance on display. The fact is that, in the middle of a fascinating ICC World Test Championship 2021-2023 final between Australia and India, a fan has proposed to his girlfriend at a jam-packed Kennington Oval today.

The heartening incident for the couple, who will remember this grand finale for the rest of their lives, has come only a day after a woman of Indian origin had expressed her desire to marry Indian batter Shubman Gill. It was one of those fan-girl moments with the proposal made via a banner, and it is highly unlikely that Gill would pay heed to her female fan’s advances.

However, the one witnessed on Day 4 is certainly not a case of one-sided love. It, generally, never is in such situations and such arrangements. Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting, calling the match for host broadcaster Star Sports Network at the time, didn’t mince words to describe the proposal. “People will do anything to come on television,” Ponting chirped.

The moment arrived just a few minutes post the Indian opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Gill arrived on the field of play in their attempt to chase down a monumental 444-run target.

Amidst a huge roar from the crowd, this fan pulled out a ring, proposed to his girlfriend, and no points for guessing, the girl replied with a ‘Yes’.

What followed was the lovely couple kissing each other, while the woman was seen all delighted as she embraced her near and dear ones present in the stands.

It is to be noted that it is not for the first time when a sporting venue has witnessed a fan proposing to his/her potential better-half during a live match.
