The first T20I of the ongoing South Africa’s tour of West Indies will be played at the National Cricket Stadium tonight. After getting whitewashed 2-0 in cricket’s ancestral format, the hosts would be keen to return to winning ways in St George’s.
Their quest of winning will be bolstered by the return of multiple A-list T20 superstars into the West Indian Playing XI. Led by Kieron Pollard, the West Indian XI is most likely to comprise of players such as Chris Gayle, Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell and Dwayne Bravo.
Given the amount of T20 cricket that all these aforementioned names have played collectively in the last decade, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that West Indies will start as the favourites in this five-match T20I series.
As much as South Africa would be hoping to carry forward their form from Test to T20I cricket, they will have to put together a much improved team effort against West Indies. Not going by the ICC rankings of these teams, it is worth mentioning that this T20I series has it in it to allure eyeballs from across the globe.

As has been the case during international cricket in West Indies and New Zealand in the last year or so, South Africa’s tour of West Indies 2021 isn’t available on television channels in India.
Having said that, streaming platform Fan Code is streaming the whole tour at a nominal price. Unlike the recently concluded two-match Test series, fans won’t have the option of buying a pass only for the first match of the T20I series.
Fans, who wish to buy a pass for the five-match T20I series, will have to pay INR 49 on the website or mobile application of FanCode. It is worth mentioning that the same is a 50% discounted price.
As far as the fans in USA are concerned, they will be able to watch Grenada T20Is on their televisions on ESPN+. While South African fans will be able to watch their team play T20Is on Supersport, fans in the UK will have to put on BT Sport on their televisions for this series. On the other hand, local fans in the Caribbean will be able to follow the match on Flow Sports.
