Shubman Gill became the fifth Indian batter on Wednesday, to have smashed a double century in One Day Internationals, and with it now also holds the record of being the youngest men’s batter to have reached the landmark at 23 years of age.

Gill has been a standout performer for the Indian team in the 50-Over format of-late, and is in fact their leading run-scorer since the beginning of 2022. Averaging nearly 69 after 19 ODI innings now, he is now seen as the apt man to partner skipper Rohit Sharma in the upcoming Asia Cup and perhaps during the World Cup later in the year as well.
A day after also becoming the youngest Indian batter to score 1,000 runs in ODIs, an old media report commending Gill’s splendid performance during his under-16 age bracket playing days also became the talking point across social media.

A celebrity figure now in this day of social media, the opening batter has been dominating the headlines not only for his on-field performances, but also pertaining his off-the-field private life as well.
A few weeks ago, during a Punjabi talk show ‘Dil Diyan Gallan’, Shubman Gill did not wish to rule out the talks of his relationship with Bollywood actor Sara Ali Khan, after the duo were spotted together at a restaurant in Mumbai.
Even earlier, speculations were rife that Gill has in fact been dating the daughter of legendary Sachin Tendulkar – Sara Tendulkar, with the duo commenting nearly regularly on each other’s social media posts. However, the chapter perhaps came to an end with reports of them unfollowing each other on Instagram.
Having said that none of the above mentioned celebrities have or had in the past spoken anything regarding their relationship status, but the rumours keep getting the required fuel.
Even on Thursday, when one of the Twitter users decided to credit Pollywood actor Sonam Bajwa (the host of the aforementioned Punjabi chat show) for Gill’s ODI double century, the former indirectly took a dig at the latter’s rumored/so-called girlfriends.
