In what was one of the most dramatic clashes between the two sides in recent history, Real Madrid trounced Barcelona 3-1 at the Nou Camp.
An own goal from Pique was cancelled out by a Leo Messi penalty, as Barcelona’s talisman dragged his team on level terms against Real Madrid.
And that’s when Cristiano Ronaldo took center stage at the Nou Camp.

Brought on for only 30 minutes by Zidane, Ronaldo first scored a superb solo goal, as he finished a devastating counter attack by putting the ball in the top corner, after a rasping drive from the edge of the box.
He was then given a yellow card, after he took off his shirt in celebration and brandished his name in front of the watching Barcelona fans.
Minutes later, he was given a controversial yellow card for simulation after he went down in the penalty box. Replays showed that while there was not enough contact between Ronaldo and the defender for a penalty, it certainly was not enough to earn a second yellow card either.
Ronaldo could not believe the decision, and shoved the referee in disgust.
Real were able to add a third goal, as Marco Asensio scored a brilliant goal on the counter attack, creating a huge mountain for Barcelona to climb in the second leg.
That shove had its consequences, as Ronaldo was given a four match ban in addition to his one match ban for the red card that he received last night.
The Portuguese international will now be available for action only on September 20th, when Real Madrid will face Real Betis in the league.
All is not lost for Cristiano however, as he will be given 10 days to appeal the decision.
